No More Regrets
When I was in my last year of college as a fifth year textile design major, I found my way onto a floor of the Art Dept. I’d not been on before. Curious, I looked into the classrooms to see what I’d been missing. So busy with my major I didn’t get onto the other floors at all. Coming to the end of the hall, I looked into a room with work leaning up against the front chalk board. Each finished piece was a letter in the alphabet surrounded by illustrations. My heart stopped! How had I missed out on such an exquisite assignment! That memory took up residence in my emotional basement of ‘missed opportunities’ and got stuck, stuck, stuck! Until just one morning, light a bolt of lightning, I realized I took on the assignment all by myself! Good golly. Off the the Encinitas Cafe I went. I love sitting at the counter in diner like places…perfect for beginning my illustrated alphabet. Don’t know if I’ll ever get past ‘b’. I already feel free! Now what else is in this goofy basement of mine?
